The Swedish Embassy in Rwanda has organized an anti-discrimination and hatred campaign


The Swedish Embassy in Rwanda, in collaboration with the International Organization for Peace and Prevention of Genocide, AEGIS Trust, has organized an event called ‘Remember ReActs’, which aims to combat discrimination and hatred that can lead to genocide.

The week-long event, which begins on Monday, October 11, 2021, will take place at the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
The ‘Remember ReAct’ event was funded by the Stockholm Historical Forum and the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Education.
Sweden’s ambassador to Rwanda, Johanna Teague, said the event was organized to preserve the history of the genocide as one of the key to prevent it happen again.

“Preserving the history of the Genocide requires continued efforts, in Sweden the government has put a lot of effort into combating the hatred of the Jews that characterizes our society” Said Johanna.
AEGIS Trust Secretary Mutanguha Freddy thanked the embassy for organizing the event and acknowledged that there is a great lesson that Rwandans will learn from it.
The event, which begins on October 11 and will end on October 18, will take place at the Kigali Genocide Memorial site.
