As of Monday, October 11, 2021, the Ministry of Health has launched a new round of comprehensive immunizations to be implemented in 13 districts outside the City of Kigali.
More than a million doses will be delivered in just 10 days, the Ministry of Health said.
Up to now, more than 2.1 million people in Rwanda have been vaccinated, including 1.6 million who have been full.
Rwanda uses the vaccine in the fight against the COVID-19 and this vaccine comes from international programs COVAX and AVAT vaccines in partnership with African countries, partnerships with other countries, friends, and those that Rwanda buys itself.
Rwanda has recently received more than 280,000 doses of vaccine aid donated by Slovakia last weekend.
The Government of Rwanda, in collaboration with its partners, continues to urge the public to continue to adhere to all measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic, despite the fact that the number of people infected and killed by Covid-19 has dropped dramatically.
Currently, about 13% of the population has already been vaccinated, while the target is to reach at least 60% of the population vaccinated by June 2022.
